Damaged heat or waterproofing
When the waterproofing layer is damaged, moisture gets on the thermal insulation and damages it. Getting to the thermal insulation layer is not so easy. It is located between the waterproofing membrane laid under the roofing material and vapor barrier. Accordingly, the replacement of thermal insulation is a rather time-consuming process.
The inner lining and vapor barrier must be removed. At the same time, it is not necessary to hurry up to remove heat-insulating material. If it is dry, then the moisture did not have time to reach it. Thus, it fully performs its functions. Those plates to which moisture has got, need to be replaced with new. At the same time, heat-insulating material keeps within between rafters in a slightly compressed condition.
Next, it is necessary to assess the condition of the waterproofing layer. There should be no defects. If there are any, then the waterproofing membrane will have to be replaced. Lay the material so that it wraps around the rafters. It is expedient to attach waterproofing to rafters by means of brackets.
Repair of roofing materials
Many people use metal tiles when installing a roof. This roofing material must be replaced if it has rusted or has defects. Metal is subject to partial repair, in addition, the manufacturer provides a warranty on its products.
If a steel rebate roof is used as a roofing material, the presence of large gaps and the appearance of defects indicates the need for repair. Also, this material can rot. You can get rid of large gaps with silicone sealant. At considerable damages, it is necessary to impose patches.
Clay and sand-cement tiles, as well as slate, are subject to partial replacement. At the same time, it is necessary to adhere to the technology of laying the given roofing materials.
If the integrity of the bituminous shingles is violated, then you will have to apply patches. This is one of the most demanding roofing materials, so when repairing it is worth thinking about changing it to a less demanding metal tile.
